The CD by Sony ‘Epic Orchestra – New Sound of Classical’, in which Johanna was involved at the beginning of last year at the invitation of the SONY label, has recently become available for sale on the open market.

“Epic Orchestra – New Sound of Classical” is an epic journey of sound with orchestra, on which the most famous works by the greatest living composers can be heard in their full acoustic abundance with orchestra and outstanding soloists for the first time. The NDR Radiophilharmonie has combined some of the best-known works by the greatest living composers in a coherent journey of sound and colours.
In a very complex production with outstanding soloists, choir and every conceivable expansion of the orchestra, the masterpieces of these composers appear in their full acoustic abundance as never heard before. With over 90 microphones, “Epic Orchestra” explores the possibilities of acoustic orchestral sound – without any midi or synthesizer support – and creates a kaleidoscope of construction with several organ and piano voices at “Interstellar”.
