On September 5th, the violinist Johanna Röhrig gave her first solo recital in France at the church of Ormersviller. The program spanned a wide arc from the early Baroque to the 20th century: it began with Heinrich Ignaz Franz Biber’s Passacaglia for solo violin, one of the central works of the Baroque repertoire. This was followed by Eugène Ysaÿe’s Sonata No. 3 “Ballade”, which immediately captivated the audience with its romantic expressiveness and technical brilliance.

The second half of the evening was dedicated to Johann Sebastian Bach’s Partita No. 2 in D minor BWV 1004, whose monumental Ciaccona provided a fitting and majestic conclusion.

The audience listened attentively to the varied program and responded with prolonged applause. The concert not only marked a highlight of the Ormersviller concert series but also represented a significant moment in Johanna Röhrig’s international career.
